This activity is a good supplement to any class that is learning about mining, earth science, or geology.

To celebrate Mining Month 2020 MineralsEd, in collaboration with the Association for Mineral Exploration, created four videos on different topics related to mining in BC! You will find all four videos on this page, along with the MineralsEd developed student quizzes to supplement the videos.

Patrick McAndless, aka Geodude, is a veteran industry geologist and valued MineralsEd "Rock Star". In his retirement, Mr. McAndless has devoted his energy and attention to the education of youth, from post-secondary to elementary, sharing his passion for Earth Science and mining and inspiring young people to be the best they can be.
Mr. McAndless is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker who has a growing repertoire for classroom presentations. Mr. McAndless no longer offers classroom visits, however, he does currently offer two of his presentations Rocks to Rockets and It's About Time narrated and ready to present to your classroom.

Explore five different mining communities across B.C. and learn all about B.C.’s mining heritage and legacy, the different minerals mined in B.C, and mining and the environment. At each stop, participants will be challenged to find information from a variety of interactive online sources and will be given a series of questions to answer.
