Join us at CIM Connect for the MineralsEd Career Fair, specifically tailored for students in grades 10-12! This event offers an incredible opportunity for students to engage with employers and discover a diverse range of career options, spanning from science and engineering to trades. Moreover, our career fair will have BCIT and EducationPlannerBC for students to learn how to pursue various careers. The day will be split between touring the CIM conference hall and the MineralsEd career fair, both located in the Vancouver Convention Centre West. The CIM conference hall will have more than 200 industry exhibitor booths where students can discover the breadth of careers relating to the mining industry. The MineralsEd career fair will have 7-8 booths run by companies with the focus on teaching students about their careers. This allows students a more in-depth opportunity to learn and ask questions to the professionals. In addition to the exhibitors, we will have a break out room run by EducationPlannerBC to show students the process of planning their education for a specific career path, and BCIT for students to learn about different programs.
MineralsEd in partnership with CIM Connect are pleased to offer passes and transportation to and from the conference, ensuring that both educators and students have seamless access to this enriching experience. Whether you bring your entire class (e.g. Career Life Education 10, Career Life Connections 12) or 25 interested students from various science classes, transportation will be reimbursed after the conference. This could be in the form of convenient public transit to the centrally-located convention centre or renting a school bus (full transportation costs will be reimbursed for groups larger than 20, but smaller groups can apply for travel subsidies but may not be guarenteed).
